MONEY?
Literally MONEY means;
1. The most common medium of exchange; functions as legal tender
2. Wealth reckoned in terms of money
3. The official currency issued by a government or national bank
I believe each of us did heard the following phrases/situation discussing on role of money in our life especially this Y2K era. At least once. Perhaps?
1 : MONEY is important.
2 : MONEY is required in anything we want/need/have to do, must do
3 : No MONEY No talk
4 : It is crucial to have MONEY but MONEY cannot buy everything
5 : Have a lot of MONEY (streotype definition of being RICH), does not mean you are the most happiest person in this world.
6 : But MONEY do make us happy in some way
7 : There are people who would do anything for MONEY
8 : Life would be miserable without MONEY
9 : MONEY - can make a relationship broken, family; parent and son/daughter, between siblings - sisters and brothers, friends - bestfriend, husband and wife, lover etc
10 : MONEY means POWER
I would never able to list all things or all possible things we/people in this world would think/talk/assume/treat what is MONEY means to them/us.
From my point of view,
Money as indicator of happiness is totally debatable.Yes, it is subject to definition of happiness for an individu.
As I always said, anything in this world having bad and good side, pro and cons. It’s actually depend on how we as a human, as a person take it. Either we manipulating it(in this issue, MONEY) and lead the result to the goal that we are aiming for or we by any chance being manipulated by MONEY which lead us to the ending that we may not ever think about.
It’s happy to heard stories when MONEY proves it’s role and brings so much happiness to the world. The government or the private sector investing MONEY to the development of human resources, education, parents bring up their children sucesfully; spiritual, knowledge, behaviour and attitude, a precious smile of kid when received his most desire toys etc.
And it’s too sad to heard stories i.e son killing a mother because of money (especially to the drug addicts), a wife planning a murder of her husband to inherit his property, friendship left behind for a betrayal for MONEY, selling our pride, our stand for MONEY (bribe) and there is a lot of stories could tell the evil of MONEY.
By the way MONEY is just a form. Symbolic?
Anyway, why I talk about MONEY in sudden. Is it in sudden? May be not? When I recap my daily life,I realized I do think about it most of second pass in my life;
Work requirement; costing, fee, unit price etc
Daily routine; Driving - toll fare, petrol consumption etc, Foods - Breakfast, Lunch, Tea time, Dinner, Entertainment - Bowling, and a lot of thing.
But may be if it a routine I dont think about it too much. The truth is, I normally think much about MONEY at the end of each month - debt to pay, installment, expenses bla..bla…bla…
HUMAN NEVER SATISFIED WITH WHAT THEY HAVE AND LOOKING FORWARD THE THINGS THEY DO NOT HAVE. THERE IS NO LIMIT FOR HUMAN SATISFACTION. THERE IS NEVER ENOUGH. CAN MONEY SATISFY YOU?
