WLC - Once in life time experience

Posted by: aznati | May 17, 2008 |

I have delaying to write this post since 2 weeks ago. Just because I have no time and not really in the right mood for writing.

Well, it might been a once in life experience for myself for going thru such an eco-challenge in Langkawi early this May. Truthly, I did felt it worth to have it once again next year - just to challenge my own ability.

Here the certificate. It’s not I’m boasting myself for posting this certificate. It only that I am so proud of myself for not giving up and succesfully finished the race.

Well, our (Suhana & I) ultimate goal when start the race is to succesfully finish the race.   Yeah, I did demotivated when receive the route the night before the race. Check the map route here:

We start the race by kayaking. And guess what, it my first time kayaking and I dont even know how to swimming. P/S : Even I took one semester class for swimming in USM.
Well, we kayakking to the ship and doing some climbing , walking on rope and pipe pipe crossover from A to B. In the end we need jump out to the sea from the ship. To think bout it now, I blindly jump when my turn and not thinking about I cannot swim..kind of funny an stupid. I did believe that I believe my partner so much…hahaha..
You can see on the route that, we continue kayakking to another spot and start the trail running in the jungle. Well, I’m totally confident with my long distance walking ability but we are totally exhausted from kayakking about 4 hours. Just imagine kayakking under sun at 12pm. We are left behind about 45 minutes from the group before us. At that time, we know that we will be the last group.
Truthfully, give up idea did appeared few times on my mind but I am not a looser. Let just finish it even as the last group - so we rejected JPA, bomba who are coming and asking we need their help. Once we received their help, we are disqualified. No way!!!
However, we ended up finished as second last  group of the category. We managed to pass the another group during trail running even we left far behind about 45 minutes from the kayaking session. What a relief….
All of that, I’m truly proud of myself for finished the race…And yes, it is so grateful we come back in good condition. There people  who got injured.
The next day, we are so exhausted but still got time to drive around Langkawi and visit Langkawi cable car. I drove manual car some more. Here some picture:
It so hot, my eyes cannot stand the sun - even wearing glasses. what’s a weird expression

this photo seems better. Just 2 of us travel so we end up taking each other picture alone …hahaha…

Have u ever heard of Outward Bound School (OBS)? It’s all back to the nature. Antara aktiviti yg kena buat ialah berkayak, whaler, rock climbing, wall climbing, hiking dan solo camping (ni scary skit). Nak tau berapa lama berkayak? 10 jam! Kena mengelilingi Pulau Pangkor..
